The mission behind Loaves & Fishes is simple: Bring together a group of passionate, like-minded, and community-driven people committed to reducing hunger in the Chilhowie, Virginia area.
That philosophy has sustained us – and helped to sustain our community – since 2002.
We distribute roughly 800 boxes of food monthly to individuals and families in need. At every stage, our volunteers are ready to help: Some pick and organize food, interview clients, or help with delivery. Others from area organizations provide financial support.

Needs
We are always seeking donations of non-perishable food items. In-kind donations also move our organization forward. Please contact us to learn more about our current in-kind needs.
Volunteer
If you are interested in volunteering with Loaves & Fishes, please contact us. You may also drop by our office at 141 South Pine Avenue, Chilhowie, on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 am to noon. We will be happy to give you a tour of our pantry and match your interests to open volunteer opportunities.
